Danehurst is excited to bring forward proposals for a high-quality sustainable student accommodation development of a site in the area of Layerthorpe, York, a short walking distance from York’s old city centre.
The scheme provides for 220 purpose-built student bedrooms in boht studio and cluster accommodation, responding to York’s existing shortfall of student accommodation and helping to free up miuch needed local family housing.
The external design is rooted in York’s own history and shares many characteristics with York’s historic industrial buildings.
The planning application was submitted in June 2024 and a decision is expected later in 2025. It is hoped works on site can commence Q3 in 2026 with opening in September 2028.
