Our People

Danehurst is a privately-owned development company operating in the PBSA and residential sector in the United Kingdom. The company was founded by hands-on directors Richard Rose and Bob Bratland who worked together for almost 20 years. Mark Yonwin joined the team in 2017.

Together, they have a ‘win win’ approach to business that’s as refreshing as it is profitable.

  • Bob Bratland

Bob graduated from Cass Business School (City University Business School as it was then) in 1995 with a first-class degree in Business Studies and then started work as a management consultant at Arthur Andersen in London.

In 2003, he and Richard joined together to deliver a large, complex residential and commercial development on Holloway Road, London. This became his ‘baptism of fire’ in property development. A project full of complexities, but it taught him that in property development there are few, if any, problems too big to overcome.

His main area of expertise is design development, planning negotiations, construction, legal and funding negotiations. Bob is also responsible for the day-to-day running of the company.

A Norwegian (although he has lived in London since 1992), he lives in North London with his Greek wife and twin daughters, and Monty! (Obviously, you have to have twins to work at Danehurst). Outside of work, Bob is the Chair of Trustees of the Norwegian Church in the United Kingdom, lending his property expertise to help them realise a development of the Church’s property to secure the Church’s financial future in London. It’s all part of giving back!

  • Mark Yonwin

Mark has over 15 years’ experience in the property sector, whilst most 21 year olds were enjoying partying, Mark decided his money was better invested in property. Over the years Mark created and holds a healthy property portfolio in and around Hampshire, where he lives. Whilst investing in property, he previously worked as the Accommodation Manager for Danehurst’s two first developments in Egham, The Pad 1 & 2. This has given him a unique and practical  insight in the running, managing and operating student accommodation which is invaluable when developing new schemes.

During his time at The Pad Mark saw three developments from start to completion, which gave him experience in construction as well as very good knowledge in sales and marketing. Mark’s next step in property world came when he joined Danehurst in November 2017 to add his experience and skills to Danehurst’s student accommodation developments.

When Mark isn’t working you will find him on a golf course, or spending time with his wife and young family in Fleet.
